Bottle Gourd Dal

Time for Preparation : 10 minutes
Time for Cooking : 20 minutes
Serves 4 people
Ingredients for Bottle Gourd Dal
1 cup Masoor Dal (red lentils)
1 cup Moong Dal (green gram)
1 small Bottle Gourd
1 big Tomato (cut into pieces)
1 big Onion (sliced)
1 dried Red Chili
½ tsp Turmeric powder
2 tbsp Mustard Oil
Salt to taste
4 cups of Water
How to make Bottle Gourd Dal
Mix and wash both the dals together and keep it aside.
Peel the bottle gourd and cut them into cubes.
Heat the mustard oil in a deep bottom vessel.
Now add the dried red chili and the sliced onion and sauté.
Add the dal now into the wok and keep sauting on a medium flame.
Now add the cubed bottle gourd and sauté.
Add the tomatoes now and keep sauting.
Now add turmeric powder
Add salt as required.
Saute everything well for 2 minutes.
Add the water now.
Cook the dal till everything is cooked well.
Delicious Bottle Gourd Dal is now ready.
