Gravy Sweet And Sour Prawns

Sweet and Sour Prawns can be prepared in two ways, the dry version and the gravy version. I have already shared the dry version earlier, now I am sharing my gravy version of this Prawn recipe. This mouth water gravy recipe can be savored with any kind of rice recipe, noodle recipe or even rotis. Children too enjoy the same as it taste sweet and sour and little spicy above all it is very yummy. Here I am sharing my recipe of Gravy Sweet and Sour Prawns.




Time for Preparation : 10 minutes
Time for Cooking : 30 minutes
Serves 4 People 

Ingredients for Sweet And Sour Prawns

1 kg Tiger Prawns or any prawns of big size can be used.
1 Egg
2 big Onions
4 Green Chilies
1 Tbsp Garlic
1 Tbsp Ginger
3 Tbsp Corn flour
½ Tsp Sugar
4 Tbsp Soy sauce
4 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup
Pinch of Ajinomoto
½ cup Oil
Salt to taste
1 cup luke warm water

How to make Sweet And Sour Prawns

Chop the ginger and garlic, cut the onions into big pieces, cut green chilies into one inch long.



Clean prawns carefully and remove the shell but do not remove the head of the prawns.



Now add the egg.



Add the 3 tbsp corn flour.



Now add the 2 tbsp soy sauce.



Add salt as required.



Mix everything properly together and leave it aside.



Heat oil in a deep bottom wok or kadhai.



Now take the marinated prawns and fry them little by little.



Fry the prawns nicely on a medium heat till it becomes golden brown in color.



Once the prawns are fried remove from the oil and keep it aside in a separate bowl.



Add the chopped garlic, ginger, onions and chilies into the wok containing hot oil.



Stir for some time.



Add the tomato ketchup now.



Add the sugar now.



Now add a pinch of ajinomoto.



Stir for sometime, perhaps a minute and add the remaining 2 tbsp soy sauce and salt.



Add the luke warm water and let it simmer.



Now add the golden fried prawns.



Stir for 5 minutes.



Delicious Gravy Sweet And Sour Prawns are now ready.
