Carrot Halwa Recipe - Gajar ka halwa
Carrot halwa is a sweet dish made of carrot. In this recipe carrot is cooked with ghee, milk, khoya and sugar. The addition of cinnamon sticks and cardamoms enhances the flavor and aroma of this halwa. Children enjoy this sweet dish and they also get the protein of the carrot. Ingredients required for making Carrot Halwa
1 kg carrot
Half litre milk
4 tsp ghee
5 green cardamoms (whole)
5 cinnamon sticks
Sugar as per taste
100 grams khoya
Dry fruits for garnishing

How to cook Carrot Halwa
First we will peel the carrot, wash it and grate it in a grater.
Also take the khoya and grate it and keep it ready.
Now we will start cooking this halwa. I am going to cook this halwa in a kadhai.
Heat the ghee in the kadhai, when the ghee is heated add the green cardamoms and the cinnamon sticks.
Then add the grated carrots into the kadhai and sauté it for few minutes.
Pour the milk now. Adding milk to the halwa makes it very tasty and healthy. Cover and cook till the milk boils.
Stir the halwa properly and then add sugar as much as you require.
Now add the grated khoya. This will make the halwa very yummy. Stir it properly.
Again cover and cook till the milk reduce its quantity and at the same time the carrots should also get cooked.
Remove the lid and stir and cook till the halwa reaches its right consistency.
Mouthwatering Carrot Halwa is now ready. Garnish it with dry fruits and serve it to your guest and your loved ones. You can also refrigerate and serve the chill halwa.
