Tomato Dal

Dal can be prepared in various ways, here in this dal recipe I have added tomato and it taste awesome. The tangy taste to tomatoes enhances the taste and flavor of this dal recipe. This dish is very simple and easy to prepare. The same can be savored with rice or roti. Here I am sharing my recipe of Tomato Dal.




Time for Preparation : 5 minutes
Time for Cooking : 30 minutes
Serves 2 people  

Ingredients for Tomato Dal

1 cup Moong Dal (green gram)
1 cup Masoor Dal (red lentils)
1 big Tomato (cut into pieces)
1 big Onion (sliced)
2 Dried Red Chilies
½ tsp Turmeric powder
½ tsp Red Chili powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsp Oil

How to make Tomato Dal

Heat oil in a pan or a wok.



Add the sliced onions and dried red chilies and sauté for 3 minutes.



Now add the moon dal and masoor dal to the wok and fry for 5 minutes.



Add the tomatoes now.



Add the salt.



Now add the turmeric powder and red chili powder and sauté everything together for 5 more minutes.



Add sufficient amount of water and cook the dal.



Delicious Tomato Dal is now ready to serve.
